Metamorphosis Monday-candlestick bottom to cake stand

Today, I am joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Metamorphosis Monday.
See her transformation of her closet and many more ideas here.

Notice the taller candlestick .....this is what I transformed this week.
I didn't get a true 'before' picture of it but when I bought it (at His House for .50!) it was all dirty and dingy.
I housed it here until I could find a project to use it in (although had the 'vision' when I picked it up)

I had found this plate 1/2 off at Hobby Lobby and fell in love with the pattern! (I have a square one sitting in my kitchen, on a stand.)
I painted the candlestick black and E6000'd it to the plate.

A not so great side view of the new cake stand.

My new cake stand. I plan to use it for cookies for parties, namely my daughter's 3rd bday party in December (since she's a Princess).
And...I may add some crystal chandy pieces hanging off the edges......what do you think? I'm thinking pink chandy crystals would be nice!

Thanks for stopping in!
And check this post out for a giveaway...I'm close to my goal so would love to succeed at my first giveaway. It too can serve as a Metamorphosis Monday post!

Crystals with the black and white would be very elegant...and elegant is perfect for a princess...especially if there is pink icing involved.

Very pretty! Those 2 pieces look like they were made for each other ... and I think some crystals would look great!

Wow! I love it!!!!! It's totally perfect. I use to work at Nordstrom during college and they sold something like that for over $100. Kudos!

That is so very clever! I love the black and white. There are so many ways to accent it-pink, lime green, violet,...endless. Great job!

I love it! I'm totally obsessed with black and white though, so I may be partial! I think I might leave it as it is now, but the crystals wouldn't be bad either!
