DIY/Transformation Thursday

I recently started some projects in my house so I thought I would join in the parties this week.

Gina at The Shabby Chic Cottage is doing Transformation Thursday and Kimba at a Soft Place to Land is doing DIY Thursday. Go check them both out for more great ideas.

Let me preface this by saying we have lived in our house for 5 years....and for 5 years, I have not liked hated our light fixtures. Thankfully, I recently was introduced to my new favorite spray paint, Oil Rubbed Bronze by Rust-oleum so decided to try it on my fixtures. I have to say that I LOVE this paint! I know you've seen it all over blogland.

This fixture I REALLY disliked hated. Most of the fixtures are this 'patina green' (is that what you call it--I do). I am not really a great person and our house is not really a 'green' house if that makes sense. You can see most of our downstairs here to see what I mean.

I was so excited to change this fixture, I didn't get a shot of it up but here it is before paint, disassembled.

I am repainting all of my fixtures inside and out because can you believe they put these on the OUTSIDE too!? ugh.

**we ran out mid-project and couldn't find it anywhere in town. I panicked. But, found it at a nearby Lowe's. Bought all they had. Whew.**
